Title:
CELLULOSE N-SUBSTITUTED CARBAMATE, COATING FILM USING THE SAME, COATING FILM FOR OPTICAL COMPENSATION, POLARIZING PLATE, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008106157
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To inexpensively obtain a coating film for optical compensation without requiring a complicated film formation process and an optical element not requiring labor of film sticking, etc. , having optical characteristics and to provide a method for forming a coating film for optical compensation, which contains a cellulose N-substituted carbamate and in which in order to make an optical element made into a thin film, when the maximum refractive index in a plane is nx, the minimum refractive index is ny, a refractive index in the thickness direction is nz and the film thickness is d, a value represented by (nx+ny)/2-nz is negative and its absolute value is larger and to obtain an optical element produced by using the formation method.

The coating film for optical compensation is formed from a cellulose N-substituted carbamate. The method for forming a coating film for optical compensation comprises coating a substrate with a coating solution containing the cellulose N-substituted carbamate and a solvent to dissolve it to give a coated substrate and drying the coated substrate.
