To obtain a cellulosic fiber processed article provided with shape stability without damaging hydroscopicity by polymerizing a monomer containing a hydrophilic group and an unsaturated bond with a monomer containing a functional group to be reacted with a hydroxyl group of cellulose to form a covalent bond and an unsaturated bond and sticking the polymer to a cellulosic fiber (structure).
A cellulosic fiber (structure) is provided with a treating solution comprising at least a monomer containing a hydrophilic group of SO3X [X is H or an atom (atomic group) to become an n(-SO3-)Xn+; and (n) is a positive number] and an unsaturated bond such as 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (salt) and a monomer containing a functional group to be reacted with a hydroxyl group of cellulose such as N-methylol group or -COOY [Y is H or an atom (atomic group) to become an m(-COO)Ym+; and (m) is a positive number], etc. to form a covalent bond and an unsaturated bond such as N- methylolacrylamide or (meth)acrylic acid (salt), a polymerization initiator and a catalyst and then heat-treated.
