Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-cement-based refractory mixture having low water content and low porosity, producing refractory articles with high strength at high temperatures.SOLUTION: A mixture contains a pH buffer, and a component containing metal or fumed silica. Water can impart good flow characteristics to the mixture and realize efficient low-temperature curing. Articles produced using the mixture have superior refractory properties and physical properties at high temperatures.
