Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a cement solidification facility for radioactive waste in which the cement solidified waste liquid, containing sodium sulfate, is protected against crushing.
CONSTITUTION: The cement solidification facility for radioactive waste comprises a waste container 11 for radioactive liquid waste, a powder cement container 12, a kneader 15 coupled with the containers 11, 12 through pipings 13, 14 and kneading the radioactive waste and the cement to produce a cement paste, a drum 17 for solidifying the cement paste received from the kneader 15, and a temperature controller 18 for setting the temperature of cement paste in the kneader 15 at the transition point of sodium sulfate, i.e., 32.5°C, or above.
