Abstract:

To provide a cutting tool insert including substrate and coating for cutting-off and grooving the heat resisting super alloy and stainless steel.

This substrate is composed of 5 to 7 wt.% Co, 0.15 to 0.60 wt.% TaC, 0.10 to 0.50 wt.% NbC and residual part WC. This coating includes: a homogeneous AlxTi1-XN layer having x=0.6 to 0.7; and a thickness ranging from 1 to 3.8 μm.
