Abstract:
To provide a centerless cylindrical grinding apparatus having improved accessibility to the area of an apparatus bed.SOLUTION: A centerless cylindrical grinding apparatus includes a first drivable positioning axis XS of a grinding headstock 10 that has a grinding wheel 11 rotating around a rotation axis 12, a second drivable positioning axis XR of an adjusting wheel headstock 20 that has an adjusting wheel 21 rotating around a rotation axis 22, and a work piece support 32 that can be located between the grinding headstock and the adjusting wheel headstock. A drivable positioning axis YW extending orthogonally to at least one of the positioning axes XS, XR is mounted for a carriage 31 on a carriage track 30, which moves the work piece support. The grinding headstock and the adjusting wheel headstock are located in a first area 41 of an apparatus bed 40. The carriage track 30 is located in a second area 42 of the apparatus bed. The second area of the apparatus bed is made smaller in extension in a direction parallel to the positioning axis YW as compared with the first area of the apparatus bed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
