PURPOSE: To provide a method by which the outer/inner peripheral surfaces of pipe shape workpieces 5 can be ground efficiently and accurately (especially, with high concentricity) and a device suitable for applying this method.

CONSTITUTION: The peripheral surface of pipe shape workpiece is ground like a conventional centerless grinder, while rotating the pipe shape workpieces 5 in an arc arrow mark r2 direction by a blade 1, an adjusting wheel 2 and a grinding wheel 4. The inner peripheral surface of the pipe shape workpiece 5 is ground by rotating a grinding wheel 6 for grinding an inner periphery in an arc arrow mark r4 direction by a high speed air motor 7 in parallel with a peripheral surface grinding simultaneously.
