To control the illuminators of a plurality of showcases arbitrarily by means of the illumination switch of a single showcase.

A central controller for showcase comprises a main controller 11, terminal side controllers 12, 13 provided for a plurality of showcases SC1, SC2, respectively, and connected with the main controller 11 through a communication line 14, fluorescent lights 1, 2 fixed to respective showcases SC1, SC2, and switches 3, 4 for turning the fluorescent lights 1, 2 on/off. When the fluorescent lights 1, 2 are unlighted by means of the switches 3, 4, the terminal side controllers 12, 13 notify the main controller 11 to this effect. The main controller 11 delivers a command for unlighting the fluorescent lights 1, 2 to the terminal side controllers 12, 13 which then unlight the fluorescent lights 1, 2 of the showcases SC1, SC2 provided with the terminal side controllers 12, 13.
