To provide a centrifugal brake mechanism for a bait-casting reel, so improved that a user controls rotational resistance force of a spool, when the user casts a bait, and therefore the rotational resistance force against casting force of the user is suitably exhibited.
In this centrifugal brake mechanism, a cover (150) is rotated against a brake housing (130) so that movements of two or more brake shoes (160a, 160b, 160c, 160d, 160e, 160f) are selectively restricted by engaging protrusions (155a, 155b, 155c, 155d, 155e, 155f), and many of the other brake shoes (160a, 160b, 160c, 160d, 160e, 160f) which are not restricted by the engaging protrusions are moved by centrifugal force, when a spool (120) is rotated, so that frictional force act on a brake drum (110).
