The rotational shaft unit 14 constituting a centrifugal compressor 10 includes: a rotor 20 constituted by covering an outer periphery of a permanent magnet 16 by a protective ring 18; bearing shafts 22, 24 disposed to ends in an axial direction of the rotor 20; and an impeller 26 disposed to the bearing shaft 22. The protective ring 18 has a cylindrical projection part 18a projected axially outward of an end face 16a of the permanent magnet 16. The bearing shaft 22 has a cylindrical part 22a opened to one end in the axial direction, and a bottom part22b formed to the other end in the axial direction. The bottom part 22b abuts on the cylindrical projection part 18a of the protective ring 18, but the bottom part 22b is separated from the end face 16a of the permanent magnet 16.
