Abstract:
To prevent a shortage of oil to be supplied to a speed-up gear while curbing an increase in pressure in a speed-up gear chamber.SOLUTION: A centrifugal compressor 10 comprises a bypass passage 61 with one end thereof communicated with a speed-up gear chamber 13c and the other end thereof communicated with an oil pan 55. Thus, even when air in the speed-up gear chamber 13c is expanded due to an increase in a temperature therein, the expanded air therein is discharged out of a pressure release passage 60 through the bypass passage 61 and the oil pan 55. Also, even when the oil agitated in the speed-up gear chamber 13c by a speed-up gear 30 during operation of the centrifugal compressor 10 flows into the bypass passage 61, the oil is returned to the oil pan 55 through the bypass passage 61.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
