Abstract:
Provided is a centrifugal compressor, including: a compressor impeller 22 (impeller) which is provided to a shaft 17; a wall portion 2c having an opposed surface 2d that is spaced apart from and opposed to a back surface 22a of the compressor impeller 22; an insertion hole 2b, which is formed in the wall portion 2c, and is configured to receive the shaft 17 inserted to the insertion hole 2b; a ball bearing 20 (bearing), which is provided in the insertion hole 2b or apart from the compressor impeller 22 with respect to the insertion hole 2b, and is configured to axially support the shaft through interposition of grease being a lubricant inside; an electric motor which is provided on a side opposite to the compressor impeller 22 over the wall portion 2c; and an opposed hole 28, which is formed in the wall portion 2c, and has one end 28a opened in the opposed surface 2d and another end 28b opened at a position opposed to a stator of the electric motor on a side opposite to the compressor impeller 22.
