PURPOSE: To prevent the uneconomical use of a coagulant and the excessive concentration of sewer sludge by providing a medicine inlet at a predetermined distance from a sludge inlet coaxially of a bowl on the side of a sludge outlet thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A screw conveyor 25 provided in a cylindrical bowl 24 rotatable about a shaft coaxially thereof is caused to rotate at a predetermined speed different from that of the bowl 24. A sludge supply pipe 31 passing through one rotating shaft 26a of this conveyor 25 coaxially thereof is opened as a sludge inlet 33 at one end of the bowl 24. A medicine pouring pipe 34 provided in the sludge supply pipe 31 loosely fitted thereinto is opened within the bowl 24 as a medicine inlet 36 in a position considerably distant from both the sludge inlet 33 and the end of the bowl 24. A water separating pipe passing through the other rotating shaft 26b of the conveyor 25 coaxially thereof is opened as a water separating pipe 38. A concentrated sludge pipe 40 provided in this water separating pipe loosely fitted thereinto is opened as a concentrated sludge outlet 46 near the inner peripheral surface of the bowl.
