This centrifugal governor is formed in a manner that a governor weight 8 is connected to the rack pin 2 of a fuel injection pump 1 through a governor lever 3, the tension of a governor spring 4 can be regulated through a governor lever 5 by a remote controlled lever 6b and under a condition that the remote controlled lever 6b is set in a low/idle position, the governor lever 3 is retained in a low/idle corresponding position by a governor force G and an idle spring 13 which opposes the governor force G. An idle position regulating means 10 is newly arranged which regulates the governor lever 3 to the low/idle corresponding position on the way that the remote controlled lever 6b is set to a low/idle lower limit position Lc by exceeding a low/idle upper limit position La.
