PURPOSE: To eliminate a mechanical seal and lower the cost of maintenance, inspection, a repair or the like by forming the rotor of a reluctance motor out of a main plate or a side plate having a radially extended groove on the surface thereof, and rotating the rotor via magnetic field generated with excitation winding.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of slots are radially formed on the inner wall of the casing 1 of a pump body A at a position faced to a side plate 12, and houses an exciting section 15 formed out of a coil 17 wound around a core 16 laid in a radial direction in line with a slot shape, thereby forming a motor B to be used as a bearing in common. The prescribed amount of current is fed to the section 15 for the operation thereof and subsequently rotating an impeller 5 in such a condition as axially positioned. Also, a fluid in the space of the impeller 5 is made to externally flow along a flow passage 9 in a radial direction under a centrifugal force and discharged from a circumferential groove 10. A fluid in an inflow pipe 2 is concurrently made to enter flow passage 9 from the opening of the boss 6 of the impeller 5 via an inflow port 4.
