To provide a centrifugal pump capable of securing abrasion resistance of an impeller by suppressing entry of foreign matter (such as pebbles and gravel) into a gap between a hub of the impeller and a casing wall.
In a centrifugal pump 20, an impeller 25 having a plurality of blades 27 provided to a hub 26 is kept in a casing 21. The impeller 25 is freely rotatably provided to a cover member 23 so as to face the hub 26. River water sucked in the pump through a case suction port 22b by rotating the impeller 25 can be discharged outside the casing 21 through a case discharge port 22c. The centrifugal pump 20 includes an annular rib 28 projected toward the cover member 23 from the hub 26 and a cooling recess 45 provided to the cover member 23 so as to allow the annular rib 28 to be received therein.
