Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique capable of improving self-priming performance by increasing a flow rate in a volute while maintaining the size of the whole volute.SOLUTION: An outer peripheral portion 45 of a nearby part 44 is formed in a tapered shape widening as separating from blades 33 in a rotating shaft direction in a range S1 of a rotation locus of the blades 33. An inner peripheral portion 46 of the nearby part 44 is formed in a tapered shape narrowing as separating from the blades 33 in the rotating shaft direction in the range S1 of the rotation locus of the blades 33. The inner peripheral portion 46 and the outer peripheral portion 45 are separated from each other, and an opposing planar surface 43 is arranged between the inner peripheral portion 46 and the outer peripheral portion 45. A volute body 42 includes the tapered inner peripheral portion 46 continued to a volute suction port 41, the opposing surface 43 continued to the inner peripheral portion 46, the outer peripheral portion 45 continued to the opposing surface 43, an opposing separated surface 47a continued to the outer peripheral portion 45, and a peripheral wall 47b surrounding an outer peripheral surface 33b of the blade 33.
