Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal pump improved in performance so as to be able to increase discharge pressure without adding special constitution. SOLUTION: A pump 21 is provided with a centrifugal type closed impeller 22 in a casing 23. The impeller 22 is fixed to a rotary shaft 25 rotatably supported to the casing 23 by a bearing. The impeller 22 is a closed type, and a front shroud 27 and a rear shroud are connected by a plurality of rib-like blades 28. Space between each shroud and the blade forms a fluid passage, and a volute chamber is formed between the periphery of the impeller 22 and the casing 23. A suction port is formed at one axial end of the casing 23, and a discharge port 33 is formed at the periphery of the casing 23. In this pump 21, the suction port side of the front shroud 27 is provided with a rugged part 34 extended over the whole periphery.
