Title:
CERAMIC ART FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1067568
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a lightweight one-man portable ceramic art kiln by forming a structure in which members prepared by forming ceramic fibers into a cylindrical or a disklike shape are stacked in the form of building blocks in a kiln vessel and producing a burner flame in a tornadic shape in the tangential direction of the cylindrical kiln.

This ceramic art kiln is obtained by forming a structure of building blocks in which the interior of a kiln vessel 1 is provided with both a structure of fuel holes 4, a refractory wall 5 and a heat insulating and retaining wall 6 stacked on a bottom plate 3 and a bottom heat insulating and retaining material 2 respectively prepared by forming ceramic fibers into members and a structure of a space between the refractory wall 5 and heat insulating and retaining wall 6 or the refractory wall 5 and the kiln vessel 1 stuffed with the ceramic fibers. The members 1 to 4 are obtained by stacking and bonding the monolithic ceramic fibers together with sheets of paper and forming the resultant materials into the shape of boards or pipes. The one to plural burner fuel holes 4 are installed in contact with the refractory wall 5 on the right side under the inner wall of the cylindrical kiln in the direction at right angles from the diametral direction so as to produce a tornadic rising flame. Thereby, the lightweight, undivided and inexpensive ceramic art kiln, portable by one person and capable of withstanding long-term use without causing the damage even when shrinking the ceramic fibers at high temperatures is realized according to the structure.
