Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramics with high stability and melting point, a catalyst carrier and a catalyst for manufacturing ethylene superior in activity, selectivity and life. SOLUTION: The ceramics contains aluminum, silicon and titanium. The total weight of the ceramics is at least 99% as the oxides (Al2O3+SiO2+TiO2) conversion. The ceramics shows at least acid color for methyl red of pKa+4.8 indicator. The ceramics is able to be used as a catalyst carrier and is produced by sintering the mixture of aluminum compounds, silicon compounds and titan compounds at 1000-2000 deg.C. The catalyst for manufacturing ethylene oxide is carried silver and accelerator on the ceramics carrier. Ethylene oxide is manufactured by the gas phase oxidation between the catalyst for manufacturing ethylene oxide and the gas which contains molecular state oxygen.
