Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic filter excellent in room temp. flexural strength, hot flexural strength, corrosion resistance against a molten aluminum and flowability of the molten aluminum.
SOLUTION: The ceramic filter is composed of an aggregate particle consisting of one or both of molten alumina and a sintered alumina and a binder, the binder exists in 10-22 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. aggregate particle and contains 15-35 wt.% Al2O3, 35-52 wt.% B2O3, ≥7 wt.% to ≤15 wt.% SiO2 and the balance is MgO.
