Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the development of breakage or crack in each part of constitution in a pump caused by solidification of molten metal by forming a molten metal shrinkage buffering layer winding and burning ceramic paper on an inner directional face of constituting member of the ceramic pump formed as cylindrical shape and brought into contact with the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic-made pump 100 for sending the molten metal under pressurizing is set on furnace bottom of a molten metal heat holding furnace 200 filling up the molten metal 10 through a base seat 101. Then, the molten metal shrinkage buffering layer 11' is formed at lower face of a bottom member 11 of the pump 100, the molten metal shrinkage buffering layer 12' is formed on the outer peripheral face of an upper part member 12, the molten metal shrinkage buffering layer 13' is formed on the outer peripheral face of an outer tube 13 and the molten metal shrinkage buffering layer 14' is formed on the outer peripheral face of a cylinder part 14. Further, the molten metal shrinkage buffering layer 16' is formed on the outer peripheral face of a discharging tube 16, too and each layer 11'-14', 16' is all formed as sheet-like by ceramic fiber and impregnated by adhesive and laminated to polylayers. By this method, the development of breakage or crack in the ceramic pump 100 caused by shrinkage stress at the time of solidification of the molten metal 10 is prevented and the long service life is obtd.
