Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a ceramic sintered compact excellent in corrosion resistance and used for a rotary heat regenerator excellent in heat exchange efficiency and ensuring a small pressure drop.
CONSTITUTION: Quartz or cristobalite is used as the principal component of the crystal phase of a honeycomb-shaped ceramic sintered material having a chemical compsn. consisting of 70-85wt.% SiO2, 10-25wt.% Al2O3 and 1-5wt.%, in total, of K2O and Na2O as alkali components and the crystal phase is made free from the alkali components. The objective ceramic sintered compact for a rotary heat regenerator is obtd.
