Abstract:
To provide a highly safe ceramide synthesis promoter having excellent ceramide synthesis promoting actions (serine palmitoyl transferase mRNA expression promoting actions etc.), and to provide an external preparation for skin and a food and drink utilizing the ceramide synthesis promoter.
The ceramide synthesis promoter comprises at least one selected from among an extract from Angelica keiskei Koidzumi, an extract from Urtica thubergiana Siebold et Zuccarini, an extract from Artemisia capillaris Thunb., an extract from Sasa albo-marginata Makino, an extract from Gentiana lutea L., and an extract from Prunus persica B. The external preparation for skin and the food and drink comprises the ceramide synthesis promoter.
