Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cermet low in reactivity with a ferrous metallic member, and a cutting tool.SOLUTION: Provided is a cermet 1 comprising a hard phase 2 including Ti and W, Co and Ni by 8 to 30 mass% and made of carbonitride of the group 4, 5 and 6 metals in the Periodic Table and a binder phase 3 including Co and Ni and W, in which the binder phase 3 includes the first binder phase 4 in which the mass ratio of W to the total content of the Co and Ni, (W/(Co+Ni)) is 0.8 or lower and the second binder 5 in which the ratio (W/(Co+Ni)) is 1.2 or higher, and in a state where the surface of the cermet 1 is contacted with an FC250 material 15, and pressure of 130 kPa is applied, in a vacuum where a vacuum degree is 1 Pa, after a reaction test of performing holding at 1,050°C for 60 min, the average diffusion distance of the W to the FC250 material 15 is 30 μm or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
