To provide a chaffless coffee maker which enables higher performance and miniaturization of an attached coarse grinder as much as possible while simply and accurately removing chaff alone from coffee beans coarsely ground.

This apparatus is provided with a coarse grinder 2 of roasted coffee beans C, a closed strainer 3 adapted to sieve coarsely ground granular solid into coffee grains cg and chaffs ch and a vacuum type chaff sucker 4 to suck and remove the chaffs sieved alone. In the coarse grinder, grinders 2a-2c comprising a pair of blade rollers are arranged to be laid vertically in three stages and the blade roller of each grinder is belt driven by only one drive motor 5. The grinders are each provided with a roller clearance adjusting mechanism to make a clearance freely adjustable between the pair of blade rollers.
