To provide a chain cover for protecting a chain from refuse, and to provide a sluice gate opening/closing device using the cover.
The sluice gate opening/closing device functions to open/close a sluice 1 by ascending/descending a gate body 16 by means of the vertically movable chain 2 driven by a drive unit set at an operating stand 13. The chain 2 located between the gate body 16 and the drive unit is covered with the chain cover 22 consisting of a plurality of cylinder bodies 22a to 22g which are telescopically connected together. The chain cover 22 has one end thereof detachably connected to the operating stand 13 and the other end thereof detachably connected to the gate body 16. The chain cover 22 is extensively formed and therefore it can follow vertical movement of the gate body 16. Further, since the chain cover is detachably attached to the gate body 16 and the operating stand 13, it is easily cleaned when soiled or easily exchangeable when damaged.
