This chain guide, provided with a shoe 2 having a plurality of hooks 3 in a side part and a protruded part 4 in both ends and a guide base 5 having a plurality of groove parts 6 in a side part and a mounting boss 7 in both ends, inserts each protruded part 4 in a window part 8 provided in the guide base 5 and inserts a plurality of the hooks 3 in the respective groove part 6, to make the shoe 2 slide in a chain advancing direction, so as to engage a protruded part 12 formed in the hook 3 with a side edge of the guide base 5, additionally to make a protruded part 4a in a chain advancing direction side abut to an external peripheral surface 9 of the mounting boss 7a. In this constitution thus formed, the chain guide 1 of type fitting the shoe 2 is obtained, a timing chain can be prevented from coming off, chattering, etc.
