Title:
CHAIN HAVING RESILIENCY IN DIRECTION OF TENSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60164043
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the vibration of a chain to reduce noise and as well to maintain the normal mesh of the chain, by giving a resiliency to the chain in the direction of tension. CONSTITUTION:Enlarged diameter arcuate sections 8, 8' are formed in a pair of connecting pin receiving holes 6, 6' in a first link plate 2 inside in the direction of tension of a chain while enlarged diameter arcuate sections 9, 9' are formed in a pair of connecting pin receiving holes 7, 7' in a second link plate 3 outside in the direction of tension of the chain, and resilient plates 5 having a curvature larger than that of the enlarged diameter arcuate sections 8, 8', 9, 9' are inserted in the enlarged diameter arcuate sections 8, 9, 8', 9' along connecting pins 4 on the link plates 2, 3. With this arrangement, the chain is shortened to pitches P' within gaps 2a between the respective link plates on the slack side of the chain, by the resilient plates 5 to absorb a slack. Accordingly, the slack of the chain is automatically absorbed to relieve the generation of noise and vibration.
