Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce labor of replacing work in a chain protector of a motorcycle.
CONSTITUTION: A fitting part 32 to be fitted to a front end swinging shaft part 8 of a swing arm 9 to support a rear wheel and upper and lower chain guide parts 33 and 34 extending backward from the fitting part 32 are integrally molded by rubber or resin. A front side opening part 38 is arranged in the fitting part 32 so as to be fittable to the swinging shaft part 8 from the rear. Preferably, tongue parts 40 to press an opening part inner peripheral surface against the swinging shaft part are integrally formed in upper and lower end parts of the opening part 38 of the fitting part. In order to improve abrasion resistance, a resin layer or a rubber layer 44 excellent in abrasion resistance is formed on a surface where strip projections 42 and 43 formed in the chain guide parts 33 and 34 are opposed to a chain. Installing accuracy is improved by pressing down and fixing this by a pressing-down plate 48 extending over to the upper and lower chain guide parts 33 and 34 from a connecting part 35.
