To provide a chain saw capable of improving operability compared to that of conventional ones while maintaining vibration proof property which is not inferior to that of conventional ones.
The chain saw comprises: a main body 2 having an engine 19; a handle 5; and an elastic connection part (rotation energization means 8, stretch energization means 9) for connecting elastically and mutually the main body 2 and the handle 5. The rotation energization means 8 generates elastic force which is generated around themselves as its center and which is in a shaft direction approximately vertical to a cut plane. Spring constant of the rotation energization means 8 becomes larger as the main body 2 and the handle 5 rotate relatively from a standard position and the rotation energization means 8 indicate non-linear shape spring characteristics.
