Abstract:
To provide a technique that prevents chips from remaining in a chain passage while preventing the chips from advancing to a tip of the chain passage.SOLUTION: A chain saw is provided with a saw chain, a guide bar, a sprocket, an engine, a housing, a sprocket cover, and a guide member. A chain passage is formed with the guide bar, the housing, and the sprocket cover. The guide member comprises a first opposite face having a circular arc shape of which the center is a rotation axis and a second opposite face having a circular arc shape of which the center is a position off-set from the rotation axis when being viewed from a direction along the rotation axis. An angle between a straight line connecting the rotation axis to a position where the first opposite face and the second opposite face are connected and a horizontal face is within a range from -10° to 25° when being viewed from a direction along the rotation axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
