To provide a fastener holding device with good cost efficiency to improve productivity in manufacturing related to loading of a chain tensioner arm.
A chain tensioner assembly includes a tensioner arm with a bore including an inside end opened through a rear face of the tensioner arm and an outside end opened through a front face of the tensioner arm. The tensioner arm includes a pocket spreading into the bore and a projecting tab extending to the inside of the bore and limiting the diameter of the bore. The tab is capable of selectively bending toward an outer wall of the pocket at the radial direction outside with respect to the bore. A fastener is provided to be engaged to the projecting tab extending through the bore. Accordingly, the projecting tab captures the fastener in the bore while the tensioner arm is capable of rotating with respect to the fastener.
