Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protrude a plunger smoothly so that a tensioner maintains tensile force of a chain even under a condition where oil supply from an engine is stopped and function of hydraulic damper included therein is not exerted.SOLUTION: In a chain tensioner, a female screw 15 formed at a plunger 14 that is inserted so as to be capable of freely emerging in a cylinder chamber 12 of a housing 11 and a male screw 17 formed into a serration shape at an outer periphery of a screw rod 16 assembled on an inside of the plunger 14 are screwed to each other, where a pitch of the female screw 15 is smaller than a pitch of the male screw 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
