Abstract:
To provide a chain tensioner in which a screw rod smoothly rotates even when used for a long time.SOLUTION: A chain tensioner 1 includes: a cylinder 10; a cylindrical plunger 11 which is inserted into the cylinder 10 so as to slide in an axial direction; a screw rod 12 which is inserted into the plunger 11; and a rod seat 13 which receives an end part of the screw rod 12 which protrudes from the plunger 11. A contact surface of the screw rod 12 which contacts with the rod seat 13 is formed as a protruding curve surface 31. A contact surface of the rod seat 13 which contacts with the screw rod 12 is formed as a taper inner surface 33 which makes line contact with the protruding curve surface 31. The rod seat 13 is formed by a high hardness material having hardness higher than the screw rod 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
