Abstract:
To provide a chain tensioner which achieves excellent following capability to looseness of a chain and achieves small oil consumption.SOLUTION: A chain tensioner employs the structure having: a cylinder 9; a cylindrical plunger 10; a sleeve 16 which is provided fixed to an interior of the cylinder 9 in a state where one end is inserted into the plunger 10 and the other end protrudes from the plunger 10; a cylindrical space 29 formed between an outer periphery of the sleeve 16 and an inner periphery of the cylinder 9; an oil supply passage 31 in which an inner end part of the cylinder 9 opens in the cylindrical space 29; and a communication passage 30 which is provided at the sleeve 16 so as to allow communication between the cylindrical space 29 and the reservoir chamber 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
