Title:
CHAIN WITH REDUCED ENGAGING NOISE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60188639
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable resonance frequency to be variable by connecting together two or more kinds of links, having different mechanism or phase of generating engaging-noise in a freely flexible manner by means of repetitive combination of an arraying pattern, in which three or more links of the different kinds coexist with each other. CONSTITUTION:A link A is an outside-surface-engaging-type link whose flank surface 1 is engaged with the tooth 3 of a sprocket 2, while a link B is an inside-surface-engaging-type link whose with clutch part 4 is engaged with a tooth 3. And the links A and B are connected to each other a pin 6, which goes through a hole 5, in such a manner that both links can freely be flexed in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the chain. When the sprocket 2 drives the chain in the arrow-marked direction, the tooth 3 starts impulsive engagement with the link A at point ''a'' and starts engagement with the link B at point b. Moreover, this engagement is carried out in a rather rolling engagement state than impulsive one. The links A and B are arrayed in repetition of a fixed arraying pattern consisting of three or more As and Bs.
