To provide a chair for a Japanese style toilet which is stable and which reduces costs for manufacturing.
The chair 2 for a Japanese style toilet to be installed onto the Japanese style toilet consists of a seat surface part 3 and a peripheral trunk part 4. At a lower edge on the right and left sides of the peripheral trunk part 4, notch parts 5 for housing the right and left projecting edges of the Japanese style toilet when installing the chair 2 on the Japanese style toilet facing its lateral side are formed. At the lower edge of the rear part of the peripheral trunk part 4, a housing recess part 7 for housing the front cover part of the Japanese style toilet is formed. In this case, notch covers 6 are fitted to the notch parts 5 detachably, and a a recess part cover 8 is fitted to the housing recess part 7 detachably.
