A chair-type gondola 2 is provided with a gondola body 4 which is suspended from an elevating device installed on an upper part of a building and moves up and down along a wall surface (or a window) 38, and a seating part 6 fixed to the gondola body 4 wherein a worker can sit and perform operation such as wall coating or the like. A footrest device 20 having a footrest plate is controllably connected with a lower position than the seated part of the gondola body either a front side adjacent to the wall surface or a rear side. Two or more wheels 30 are provided in a front position from the footrest plate of the footrest device so as to be mutually separated horizontally and butted to the wall surface, and rotated and moved vertically.
