The state of a chair 10 is freely changed between a state of a chair and a state of a bed. In the state of the chair, both a backrest 14 and an apron 16 are constituted to rise substantially vertically. In the state of the bed, a seated part 13 is lifted, and the backrest 14 and the apron 16 are held in the substantially horizontal state. A controller 100 stores a plurality of target states set according to the physiques of users for the state of the chair and the state of the bed, respectively. In the chair 10, when a switch 28 is input according to a height of the user, the controller 100 lifts or lowers the seat part 13, extends or shortens the backrest 14, and the like so that the state of the chair and the state of the bed achieve the target state corresponding to the height of the user.
