To provide a chair which solves such a problem that a human being and clothes are caught on a protruding adjustment tool or the like and can improve design of an optional member facing a back face side of the chair.
A chair has an optional member 14 supported by a supporting member 28 which is mounted on a back face side of a backrest and has an inner circumferential space with opened upper and lower ends in such a manner to be vertically movable. The supporting member 28 includes an insertion part 50 penetrating in a front-back direction. The optional member 14 has a plurality of a latching step parts 37 formed in the vertical direction. An adjustment tool 38 for changing a height of the optional member 14 is inserted in the insertion part 50 of the supporting member 28 in such a manner to have an operation part on the back face side of the backrest. The adjustment tool 38 has a latching part 39 which is biased by biasing means 60 in a direction of the back face side of the backrest and can latch onto the plurality of latching step parts 37.
