Abstract:
A chair comprises an upholstery member (109) disposed in a portion adapted to contact a human body and a frame having a supporting face for supporting the upholstery member (109) from the opposite side of the side contacting the human body. An attached end of the upholstery member (109) is mounted on the supporting face of the frame, a part of the supporting face forms an escape portion (S) which can keep the part of the supporting face away from the upholstery member (109). An area of contact between the upholstery member (109) and the frame enlarges from an attached end of the upholstery member (109) when a load is imposed on the upholstery member (109) to align the upholstery member (109) with the escape portion (S).
