Abstract:
PURPOSE: To seal a space between a chamber and an object of work simply and surely even when the object has a complex shape.
CONSTITUTION: An object 1 of work placed underwater 2 is partly covered with a local chamber main body 5 so that openings 6, 7 contact the surface of the object 1 or are penetrated by the object 1. By passing a refrigerant 14 through channels 10, 11 installed around the openings 6, 7, water in a space 8 between the object 1 and the chamber main body 5 is frozen to block the space 8 with ice 9. In this way, even when the object 1 has a complex shape, the space between the object 1 and the chamber main body 5 can be sealed simply and surely with ice 9.
