Title:
CHANGE-DIRECTION METHOD FOR TRACK RUNNING VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03167064
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate a turnabout of a track running vehicle by laying down a temporary rail at a right angle to a railway track and, after making the vehicle go up to a specified position and directing a steel wheel in the rectangular direction to the track, placing this steel wheel on the temporary rail, then running it on this rail.

CONSTITUTION: A track running vehicle capable of running on a general road is provided with a right and left pair of rubber tires in front and in the rear has lifting gears 7 each of which is combinedly usable with an outrigger unit at both sides in front and in the rear of a chassis frame and, also it is provided with a steel wheel 8 for track running use in each lifting gear 7. When a suchlike track running vehicle is turned around, a temporary rail 30 consisting of a short rail 31, a long rail 32, auxiliary rails 33, 34 or the like is laid down in the rectangular direction to a track rail 20 on which the vehicle has so far run. Next, a hydraulic cylinder 22 is operated to extend a support column 24 and, after the steel wheel 8 is floated from the track rail 20, this steel wheel 8 is turned by about 90 degrees, and in this state, the support column 24 is contracted so that the steel wheel 8 may be placed on the temporary rail 30, thereby running it on this rail 30.
