PURPOSE: To attain communication between terminal equipments without use of a coaxial cable and a MODEM by providing a changeover control circuit and a changeover switch on a caller terminal equipment and a called terminal equipment.

CONSTITUTION: When a telephone set 12 of a caller terminal equipment 1 gives a connection request to a specific terminal equipment 3 to a private branch of exchange 11 via 1st and 2nd changeover switches 5, 6, a called terminal equipment 2 is connected to a subterminal equipment 3 of the caller terminal equipment based on a sent signal, and a signal from a changeover control circuit 8 is given to a changeover control circuit 13 of the caller terminal equipment 1 via a 2nd changeover switch 6, a line 17 to the caller terminal equipment and a 1st changeover switch 5 to select the 1st changeover switch 5. Then a subterminal equipment 4 of the caller terminal equipment is connected to the subterminal equipment 3 of the called terminal equipment via the 1st changeover switch 5, a line 12 and the 2nd changeover switch 6. Thus, remote utilization of an orchestral accompaniment equipment or the like is facilitated.
