Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new changeover valve for an internal combustion engine having an adjustable compression rate, and an internal combustion engine including such changeover valve.SOLUTION: A changeover valve has a changeover element 12 having a groove 14 on a surface, and a sleeve-shaped connection region 16, the sleeve-shaped connection region has a first hole 17 for connecting the changeover valve 10 to a first hydraulic fluid line 18, a second hole 19 for connecting the changeover valve to a second hydraulic fluid line 20, and a discharge hole 21 for connecting the changeover valve to a discharge duct 22. By forming a clearance between the surface of the changeover element and a guide face corresponding to the connection region, the changeover element is guided to be movable in the connection region, and the changeover element can be moved to a first changeover position or a second changeover position by arbitrary selection. At the first changeover position, the groove formed on the changeover element connects the first hydraulic fluid line to the discharge duct, and at the second changeover position, the groove formed on the changeover element connects the second hydraulic fluid line to the discharge duct.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
