Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission technology for digital audio information and other information by which enhanced performance capability is attained in a digital audio broadcast(DAB) system.
SOLUTION: A channel code can include an external channels code such as a cyclic redundancy code(CRC) and an internal channel code such as a complementary punctured pair convolution(CPPC) code. Many code words of an external code are related to a given packet of digital information according to a specific external code configuration in order to provide partial error flagging to different parts of the given packet in this invention. An information encoder such as a PAC encoder interacts with an external code encoder to decide bit assignment for packet transmission at a specific bit rate on the basis of at least partially an external code configuration.
