Abstract:
PURPOSE: To evade the generation of call loss and easily increase or decrease communication channels according to traffic.
CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication system, which is provided with plural base stations having overlapping communication service areas and specifies a free communication channel to send a signal back if a base station has the free communication channel once a mobile station sends a communication start request to the base station, sets a channel presence/absence bit to '0' unless the base station has the free communication channel and transmits it through a control channel. The mobile station selects and receives the base station periodically (S1) and checks whether or not the channel presence/absence bit is '0' (S2); when the bit is '0', the station stands by with the channel and performs periodic reception, but when '1', a return to the step S1 is made and another base station having an overlapping service area is selected to repeat said operation. If a call is generated as shown in B, it may be checked whether or not the channel presence/absence bit is '0'.
