Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel inductor of a channel induction furnace which minimizes chemical damage and cracking.SOLUTION: A channel inductor of a channel induction furnace comprises a channel inner lining provided with: a channel having a center arm including a base and an inlet through which a molten metal communicates, and arms on both sides including respective outlets; an upwardly extending side wall; a top wall; and a flange for installing the channel inner lining onto an inner lining made of a heat-resistant material on a pan formed in the top wall; wherein the channel inner lining is, as a single element unit, formed of a ceramic material for resisting chemical attack by molten metal in the channel; and wherein direct contact between the molten metal and the channel inductor during use of the channel induction furnace is limited only to contact with the channel inner lining (including the flange), to prevent the molten metal from contacting with other portions of the channel inductor. The channel inductor further comprises: a support body provided with an outer shell, and an inner lining made of a heat-resistant material; and an electromagnetic coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
