Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the load and the overhead of a CPU by executing the duplex processing to a pair of duplex disks based on the disk constitution information set previously.
CONSTITUTION: A channel device 3 which controls the disks 6a - 6d holds the disk constitution information 4 which is set by a CPU 1 and defines the constitution of a duplex disk. Then the duplex processing is carried out to a pair of duplex disks (6a/6c or 6b/6d) by reference to the information 4. Then an end report is sent to the CPU 1. Thus the load and the overhead of the CPU 1 are reduced and the overall processing performance of a channel processing system is improved.
